Someone knocks while you are home alone, and their story almost fits. Every door visitor can be a real person or an Anomaly wearing the same face, so you prove the claim before you open up.

Check house objects, the front-room laptop cameras (and night vision), their voice, or what you see outside. Safe visitors get the door. Fakes get the porch light turned off (the switch sits to the right of the door). Wrong calls chip at your Sanity, and between knocks you still work house jobs for cash so the night is not pure door luck.

Home Alone Gameplay Tips

Do not open because the outfit looks official. Cops, firefighters, plumbers, and agents all have fakes. Run the check that visitor is known for every time.
Reject Anomalies by turning the porch light off. The switch is to the right of the front door. Guessing either way still costs Sanity.
Use the laptop in the front room for camera and night-vision tells. A lot of fakes only show on the feed, not through the door alone.
Most visitors can be real or Anomaly. Two exceptions: treat the Vampire as always fake (no safe form is documented), and ignore the Goblin Stalker house jumpscare. It cannot harm you.
