In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, you play a dwarf fighting swarms of bugs during runs called dives, and your weapons do most of the fighting. Guns, shotguns, grenades, turrets, mines and drones all count as weapons, and each one attacks in its own way. Every weapon belongs to a class, from Scout and Gunner to Engineer, Driller and Demolisher, and each class has its own set to collect.

How Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Weapons Are Grouped by Class
Every weapon belongs to one of the five classes, and each class has its own set. The sets feel different in play. Gunner weapons are mostly guns, with rockets and a drone mixed in, while Driller weapons lean on fire and acid, as with the CRSPR Flamethrower and Corrosive Sludge Pump. Engineer has plenty of electric weapons, including the Voltaic Shock Fence and Hi-Volt Thunderbird, so the class you pick shapes the kind of run you'll have.
How to Unlock Weapons in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
Weapons unlock as you level up their class. Each class has its own rank, so leveling Gunner won't open anything for Engineer. The first new weapon for each class comes at rank 3, and later unlocks come at ranks 6, 12, 15, 21, 24 and 27. Collecting everything means leveling each class through its last unlock. Once a weapon unlocks, it stays available to its class in every later dive.
Using Weapons From Other Classes
Each weapon carries tags that describe what it does, such as projectile, fire, acid, electric, explosive, throwable and drone. Class mods use those tags to bring in weapons from other classes, and each one opens a whole group at once. Only weapons you've already unlocked come through.
Weapons Specialist, a Gunner mod, opens projectile weapons, while Interrogator, a Driller mod, opens fire and acid weapons. Demolitionist, an Engineer mod, opens explosive weapons, and Strong Armed, a Driller mod, opens throwable ones. The Demolisher's Gridrunner opens electric weapons, and its Operator opens drone weapons.
How Weapons Target and Fire
You can't aim weapons yourself. Each one picks its own targets and fires in its own way, so it helps to learn how each behaves. Some go after the closest enemy, as the Deepcore GK2 does.
Precise weapons hit along a line you can predict, while spray weapons hit a wide cone. Mines wait on the ground for enemies to come close, and turrets and drones keep working once they're placed.
Choosing Weapons for Your Playstyle
No single weapon suits every fight, so it helps to choose by how you like to play. If you want to pick off one enemy at a time, a weapon that goes after the closest target is a steady option. If you'd rather deal with crowds that close in on you, spray weapons hit more bugs at once.
Tags give you a second way to choose. If you enjoy fire or drones, look for weapons with those tags, then check which class mod opens them, since that's how you'll reach them outside their home class.
Overclocks During a Run
During a run, weapons level up, and at certain points you can pick an overclock for one. An overclock is a special change that alters how the weapon works. Some change the damage type or tags, while others trade one stat for another, like reload speed for fire rate. Some come with a trade-off, so a boost in one area can cost you in another.
FAQ
What is the first weapon each class unlocks?
The first new weapon for each class arrives at class rank 3: the M1000 Classic for Scout, the BRT7 Burst Fire Gun for Gunner, the Voltaic Shock Fence for Engineer, the Corrosive Sludge Pump for Driller and the Voltaic Field Generator for Demolisher.
Which weapons are open from the start?
Each class starts with a few weapons at rank 1, so you have something to fire before you unlock anything else. The Scout, for example, starts with the Deepcore GK2 and the Jury-Rigged Boomstick.
Do you need the Heavy Duty Expansion to play the Demolisher?
Yes. The Demolisher comes with the Heavy Duty Expansion, which adds the class along with its weapons. Its weapons unlock as you rank up the Demolisher, and its class mods are Contractor, Gridrunner and Operator.
When do class mods unlock?
Each class's first mod comes with the class itself, which opens at a set player rank. The other two come from ranking up that class, so a Gunner mod comes from playing Gunner and an Engineer mod from playing Engineer.
