Build a settlement from the ground up and lead a rebellion against the Crown in Bellwright, a medieval survival game. You play a man framed for killing a prince, who goes into hiding after the Crown sentences him to death, then returns to fight back. The early hours are about staying alive, so you gather wood, stone and flax, craft basic tools and put up a shelter, since everything you build later depends on materials and food.
Once your camp is running, the game turns to people. Freeing nearby villages from the Crown and finishing quests earns renown, which you spend to recruit villagers. Each recruit can take a job like woodcutting, mining or farming, so resources keep coming in while you explore or fight.
Along the way, you clear bandit camps for loot and research new tech to unlock better buildings. In battle, you can fight in person, where the direction of your attacks matters, or stay back and command your troops. The long-term goal is a settlement and army strong enough to free the land and find out the truth behind the Prince's murder. You can play alone or with friends in online co-op.

Weapons
Weapons in Bellwright fall into one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, polearms and ranged weapons such as bows and crossbows. One-handed weapons pair with shields for steady defense, while two-handed weapons hit harder and polearms reach farther, though a two-hander gives up the shield. Ranged weapons handle enemies from a distance but depend on a steady supply of ammunition. Weapons wear down in fights, so it helps to keep backups ready.
Armor and Clothing
Armor and clothing cover the head, torso, hands, legs and feet of your character and villagers. The pieces fall into three groups, clothing, medium armor and heavy armor, and each group trades protection against speed and Strength. Every piece is unlocked in the tech tree, crafted at a workstation and wears down with use.

Village Capitals
Bellwright's village capitals are spread across the Lowlands, the Saltbite Coast and Wingman's Pass in the land of Karvenia. Each one is the main village for the settlements around it, and it's where you find villagers to recruit. Trust is built separately with each capital, and liberating one is a major step in pushing back the brigands who hold it.
Bellwright gameplay tips
- Stockpile flax and set up a Weaver Loom early. The loom turns flax into Simple Cord, and many early recipes need Simple Cord, so running short of flax will slow your first builds.
- Find iron, copper and tin near camp, and bring a pickaxe. Metal is what holds back your progress, so scout where each ore sits before you commit to a site.
- Set up a Forester early. Trees don't grow back on their own, and a Forester keeps your wood supply going so you don't have to strip the land bare.
- Clear the easier bandit camps first. Wait until you have a few trained followers and basic gear, and move up to tougher camps only as your squad grows, so you pick fights you can win.
- Keep food in chests near your settlers' tents. Settlers who eat stay healthy and productive, while hungry characters move slowly and are easier for bandits to hurt.
