If flyers keep leaking, you need a Hill, not a heavier Ground carry. Fill the map jobs first, then chase the rare names.
| Type | Job | Early units that fill it |
|---|---|---|
| Ground | Path damage and bosses | Goki (Super), Choto |
| Hill | Flying waves | Vegita (Super), Aneko (Queen), Itsoda |
| Farm | Extra Yen | Bluma (Data Analyst), Leorio |
| Support | Control and team buffs | Goju (Honored One), Shinoru (Butterfly Dance), Roxi (Mage) |
Vegita (Super) also gains crit while Goki is in range, so keep them close if you pulled both.
How units evolve
Take the base unit to Mokito in the Evolve room with remnants and that line's unique item. Most recipes want Azure, Violet, Radiant, and Prismatic Remnants. The unique piece is the lock: Rinnegan for Madaro (Edo Tensei), Vampire's Essence for Valcrad (Unleashed), Cursed Lover's Ring and Sword for Pure Love, Wolf Spirit Pistols (Black) for Starku (Primordial).
The Unit Index treats the evolved name as its own unit. The base form unlocks the line. The Sosano blades, Coffin Trap, Love Beam copy, and Lone Gunslinger kits sit on the evolved names.
Early roster choices
Fill Ground, Hill, Farm, and Support before you burn everything on a banner lottery. Vegita (Super) is the usual first Hill. Bluma (Data Analyst) turns allied kills into Training Data and can reach a 30% income bonus on long stages. Goki (Super) is a simple early Ground evolve. Aneko (Queen) is the other Hill if Vegita will not show up.
Secrets, raid Mythics, War Boss shop units, Infinite Mansion, and Battle Pass sit off a normal summon plan. Keep placing Legendaries and Epics while you hunt those. Itsoda is the Hill in Legendary. Leorio can refund a slice of nearby upgrade costs. They will not look flashy. They will keep early maps from eating you.
Placement traps
A few kits punish a messy board:
- Starku (Primordial) wants empty space. Lone Gunslinger only works if no other unit sits too close.
- Tojei (Sorcerer Killer) cannot receive buffs, so Support auras do nothing for him.
- Rose steals 5% damage from nearby allies to feed himself.
- Yoto (Calamity) ramps from kills, so he pays off on long stages, not a short Story slam.
- Leorio does not hold a lane. He is a Farm refund.
FAQ
How do I get Secret units in Anime Origins?
Each line uses a different route. Craft the Ghost Gunbai and clear Hidden Sand Ghost's Trial II for Modora. Summon Valcrad from the unit banner after level 10. Clear Rifts for Cursed Lover. Then evolve each one at Mokito for the named form.
Is Valcrad's 0.01% drop rate official?
No. Players report a 0.01% banner rate after level 10. That is a community figure, not an official in-game rate.
Are Modora and Madaro (Edo Tensei) different units?
Yes. Modora is the base Secret from the Hidden Sand trial. Madaro (Edo Tensei) is the evolved Ground Fire form with the Sosano kit. Players also search Madara; those are the in-game names.
Are Roxi and Oxi the same unit?
Yes. Roxi (Mage) is the in-game name. Players also search Oxi. Same Drenched support kit.
What is the difference between Tango and Tango (Star of Festivals)?
Epic Tango is a banner unit with a 20% crit chance, inspired by Tanjiro. Tango (Star of Festivals) is a Mythic raid unit inspired by Tengen that applies Brittle and can land a long stun.
Can I pull Yoto (Calamity) from the banner?
No. Yoto is a Battle Pass Mythic, and some players treat the kit as limited.
How do I get Igritto (Commander)?
Farm the World Boss / War Boss shop, then evolve Igritto into the Commander form. It is a Mythic Fire Ground carry, not a Secret.
