Jeremy Gill gives you a map to the legendary fish when you start A Fisher of Fish. Match the Special Lure to the water for better odds, and mail each catch to Gill before it counts toward his request.

Spoiler: these two wait for John's Epilogue in a normal playthrough. Mail the rest first.
State and region name the map area. The water body and location hint point you to the exact spot.
Which Special Lure to use for each water
Accept A Fisher of Fish before you fish for the set. Once the mission has started, the Lagras bait shop sells all three Special Lures. Legendary fish don't need bait, and any Special Lure can catch any of them. The matched lure only raises your odds, so use it when you can:
| Special Lure | Fish it's recommended for |
|---|---|
| Special Lake Lure | Sockeye Salmon, Perch, Bluegill, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Redfin Pickerel |
| Special River Lure | Steelhead Trout, Muskie, Chain Pickerel, Bullhead Catfish, Lake Sturgeon, Largemouth Bass |
| Special Swamp Lure | Longnose Gar |
Lake Sturgeon is the exception to its name: the Special River Lure is recommended for it. Any Special Lure can still catch it, but the water-matched lure improves your odds.
Mail each catch soon, to any post office
Any post office will do, so mail at the nearest one instead of backtracking. Small fish go in your satchel, and big ones ride on your horse. Get each catch to a post office soon after you land it, so you aren't hauling a stack of fish around.
What the first and tenth mailed fish earn
The first fish you mail earns a Lake Lure. The tenth earns $45 and five Succulent Fish Meat.
Spoiler: the Rio Bravo finale
Once all of the fish are mailed and you reach the Epilogue, Gill sends an invitation to Rio Bravo. He never lands the Channel Catfish, so that fish isn't part of this set. What he leaves by the river are his hat and the Special Spinner, which works across water types.
FAQ
Where and when do I start A Fisher of Fish?
It opens in Chapter 3, once the gang has reached Clemens Point. Find Jeremy Gill at the pier on the northeast shore of Flat Iron Lake.
Does this count toward 100% completion?
Yes. The full set counts toward Story Mode 100% completion, as long as every fish has been mailed.
Is the Legendary Northern Pike part of this set?
No. The Legendary Northern Pike belongs to The Veteran, so it isn't one of Gill's fish.
Does this cover Red Dead Online?
No. It covers Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Mode only. Red Dead Online's fish and rewards are outside this set.
