Layer counts, top to bottom: 9, 25, 49, 81.
This is a solid rectangular pyramid beneath an adjacent beacon grid. Mix permitted iron, gold, emerald, diamond, and netherite blocks. Activation payment is separate from construction materials, and beacons need a clear sky beam.
How to use this tool
Choose one to four pyramid layers and the width and depth of an adjacent beacon grid. The calculator counts the solid shared pyramid and the materials for the beacons themselves.
Shared pyramid layers
Each layer extends one block outward around the layer above it. For one beacon, the layer widths are 3, 5, 7, and 9 blocks. The four-layer total is 164 mineral blocks. For an adjacent rectangular grid, each layer extends around the whole grid, so sharing a pyramid can use fewer blocks than building separate pyramids.
Construction and activation
Each mineral block represents nine ingots or gems of its material. The pyramid can mix supported iron, gold, diamond, emerald, and netherite blocks. Beacon crafting needs glass, obsidian, and a Nether star. Activation payment is separate from construction, and a completed pyramid still needs an unobstructed beam to the sky.
FAQ
How many blocks does one full beacon need?
A four-layer pyramid beneath one beacon has 164 mineral blocks. The beacon block itself is additional.
Can I mix mineral block types?
Yes. A pyramid can mix its permitted mineral blocks.
Does this count activation payment?
No. The result counts construction materials and the beacons. Payment to select effects is separate.
