All 30 Melee Weapons: Damage and Locations in Active Matter

Updated on October 22, 2026 (5 days ago)

Many of the melee weapons here are household tools you'll find in civilian cars, wardrobes and cardboard boxes. Soviet-style blades and shovels come from crates and caches, a few only come with an edition, and some have no confirmed route yet. Check where a weapon comes from before you plan a raid around its damage.

What the Melee Damage Number Means in Active Matter

Every damage number here is for one hit, not damage per second. Use it as the starting point when you compare two weapons, then check how each one swings, because every weapon has its own timing. A bigger number doesn’t settle the choice on its own.

Household Tools Are the Everyday Melee Finds

Carpet beaters, screwdrivers, chisels, kitchen knives, cleavers and a crowbar mostly come out of the same searches: civilian cars, wardrobes, homes, kitchens, industrial and storage areas, cardboard boxes and bedside tables. Toolboxes are the place to check for screwdrivers and chisels, so start there if you need either one.

Soviet-Style Blades and Shovels Come From Crates and Caches

The Soviet-style blades and shovels show up in crates and caches rather than in civilian searches. Weapon Crate T1 and the Soviet Melee Weapon T1 caches are the ones to search, and Dalniy Island and Gigastructure are where to start looking.

Edition Extras, Backup Weapons and the Bayonet Blueprint

A few melee weapons are edition extras. Some editions include a weapon pack, and some give you a personal backup weapon that never shows up in raid loot. The Bayonet Knife is the one to know about: its Replicator blueprint is unlocked from the start of the game, so a raid find isn’t the only way to get one.

FAQ

Q.

Why are there several Chisel and carpet beater entries?

Each chisel and carpet beater is its own item, with its own model in the game. Within each group the damage and search spots match, so the entries look alike on the list, but they are separate weapons.

Q.

Why do some melee weapons have no location listed?

Some weapons don’t have a confirmed route yet. The Wrench, Pocket Knife, Pry Bar, Police Flashlight, Festive Spear, Rusty Bayonet, Tactical Spear and P-2 Flashlight are in that group, so their entries leave the location blank. Don’t plan a raid around one of them until a route is confirmed.

Q.

What does personal mean on a backup weapon?

A personal item isn’t lost when you die. Gear you carry into a raid is lost on death unless it’s in a safe container or marked personal, so a personal backup weapon stays with you even if you lose the rest of your loadout.
