How spins and rarity work

Styles come through the spin system in the Styles menu. Normal Spins are the regular route, while Lucky Spins are aimed at chasing higher-rarity pulls. Rarity tells you how a style enters the spin system, but it does not tell you whether the style matches your hands, timing, or team job.

The sections below follow the in-game rarity ladder, from Common through Evo. Use them as a quick starting point, then look at the actual numbers and mechanic on the style you want. A fancy rarity cannot rescue a mistimed set, which is a very polite way for the ball to remind you who is in charge.

Compare the role before the rarity

Pick the job you want to do, then compare the stats that support it:

  • Spikers should start with Spike, Jump, and Serve, then check Speed if they like moving into attacks.
  • Setters should weigh Set and Serve, with Jump and Speed helping when a rally gets messy.
  • Receivers and liberos should focus on Bump, Dive, and Speed so they can keep difficult balls alive.
  • Blockers should compare Block and Jump, then read Special for any timing trick or extra reach.

Tilt, Spin, and Wall appear only on styles that use those kinds of mechanics. Treat them as part of the style's identity, not as bonus numbers to collect blindly. A Special can change how a style feels more than a small stat lead, especially when it adds a clone, a curve, a wall, or extra air time.

Permanent and limited styles

Status separates styles in the standard pool from permanent Secret styles and Limited styles. Limited styles can leave the spin pool and return later, so an unavailable pull is not automatically gone forever. When a return happens, compare the style again instead of assuming its old role or stats tell the whole story.

For a practical choice, start with a permanent style that supports the position you already understand. Move to a limited style when its mechanic solves a problem you actually have, such as needing safer receives, a stronger block, a sharper set, or another way to keep the ball in play. Your best pull is usually the one you can control, not the one with the loudest rarity label.

Evo styles grow through an upgrade path. Their best fit depends on the upgrades you can unlock and the position you want to play.

Secret styles cover unusual mechanics and mixed roles. Some are permanent, while Limited styles can leave the spin pool and return later.

FAQ

Q.

Should I choose a style by rarity?

Use rarity as a first filter, not the final answer. Compare the role, the stats that match your position, and the Special you can actually use in a rally.

Q.

What is the difference between Normal Spins and Lucky Spins?

Normal Spins are the regular way to roll for styles. Lucky Spins are built for a better shot at higher-rarity pulls, so save them for when you are ready to chase that part of the rarity ladder.

Q.

Can a Limited style come back?

Yes. Limited styles can leave the spin pool and return later, so keep an eye on their Status instead of assuming an unavailable style is gone forever.

Q.

Which stats should a setter or receiver compare?

Setters should start with Set and Serve, then check Jump or Speed for rally coverage. Receivers and liberos should focus on Bump, Dive, and Speed before looking for extra mechanics.

Q.

How should I use Tilt, Spin, or Wall values?

These optional values point to a style-specific mechanic. Read them with Special and choose the style only when you understand how that mechanic helps your position.
