Updated on November 1, 2026 (about 4 hours ago)

Progression across Liberty City

Early islands limit shop stock. Ammu-Nation opens basic firearms after early missions, while Phil Cassidy handles heavy stock on the later island. Hidden Packages add safehouse spawns as you collect them, so a search loop between missions keeps the safehouse stocked.

Choosing for the job

Firearms cover most story missions, but Rampages, Vigilante and gang hostility after certain story choices make melee and heavy options useful to keep on hand. Heavy weapons are buyable late or found in specific map spots, so grab them before long mission chains and keep a backup save if you are testing gang reactions.

FAQ

Q.

Where do Hidden Package weapons appear?

Package rewards spawn at the safehouse garage area after you reach set milestones, which makes it easy to restock between story branches.

Q.

Are Phil Cassidy and Ammu-Nation stock different?

Yes. Ammu-Nation handles pistols and lighter firearms early, while Phil Cassidy supplies rifles and heavy arms later on the other island.

Q.

Does the Detonator work without a car bomb?

The Detonator activates a car bomb bought from the bomb shop, so you need to place the bomb first and then use the detonator at range.
