The Lost and Damned Random Characters are street encounters for Johnny that appear after key story missions. Each has a requirement and an availability window, and one route can disappear depending on a story choice made earlier.

Completion
Routes that are tied to Story Mode progress and remain available once their mission requirement is met. Includes Dave Grossman and Malc encounters.
Missable
Route that only appears if Brian Jeremy was spared during Bad Standing. It does not affect progress accounting for the other routes if missed.
How encounters work here
Random Characters appear as icons on the street after you meet both place and time conditions. Two fields decide if someone is present:
- Availability shows the window. Most TLAD encounters are anytime. One is labeled Missable because it can become unavailable.
- Requirement shows the story trigger. Dave Grossman needs This Shits Cursed finished. Malc first needs Shifting Weight, Malc second needs Malc first. Brian Jeremy needs a specific choice earlier in the story.
If an icon is missing, requirement is the first check, then availability and prior choice.
Completion versus missable
Completion groups the routes that affect Story Mode progress. Dave Grossman and both Malc encounters sit there. Missable holds Brian Jeremy, who only appears if you spare him during Bad Standing. That choice happens well before the encounter, so you must decide before you reach the street spot. Sparing does not affect the progress label for the other routes; missing Brian does not block completion accounting for this collection, but it removes that story beat.
Timing and second encounters
Malc second needs Malc first finished and time advanced. Leave the area, play other missions or save at the safehouse to move the clock. Dave and Malc first are single or first steps, so once requirement is met you can go directly during the allowed window. Brian, when available, appears anytime after the sparing choice and after his requirement window opens.
Reading each row
Character is the person you meet. Encounter marks first or second meeting. Availability is the time or missable label. Requirement is the mission or choice needed. Completion indicates whether that row is treated as progress relevant in the provided grouping. Overview adds who the person is without repeating requirement details.
FAQ
Which Random Characters affect completion?
Dave Grossman and both Malc encounters are grouped as completion relevant. Brian Jeremy is grouped as missable.
Why does Malc have two rows?
Malc has a first and second encounter. Each has its own starting point and requirement, with the second needing the first finished and time advanced.
Can Brian Jeremy be missed?
Yes. Brian only appears if you spare him during Bad Standing. That choice occurs earlier in Story Mode and cannot be reversed for that playthrough at the encounter stage.
What time windows apply?
Available routes here are anytime once unlocked. Missable is a special availability label for Brian that signals choice dependence rather than clock time.
What if the icon does not show?
Look at Requirement and Availability, then see whether the earlier Bad Standing choice applies. For Malc second also ensure time has advanced since Malc first.
