All 13 Smoothie Recipes and Effects in Grounded

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

Smoothies are drinks you make at a Smoothie Station in the original Grounded, the backyard survival game from Obsidian. Most of them heal you right away and add a temporary boost, such as extra stamina, more maximum health or faster swimming. Learning which ones to make, and how, can make a rough stretch in the yard much easier.

What Smoothies Do in Grounded

Most smoothies do two jobs at once. They heal you right away and add a temporary boost on top. That boost is the real reason to make them, because it can give you more health or stamina, better swimming, or protection from a specific threat when you need it most.

Because each boost wears off, smoothies pay off most when you time them. Drink one just before the moment it matters, and you get the most out of it.

How to Make Smoothies at the Smoothie Station

You need the Smoothie Station first. Once it's built, the station's menu lists the recipes you have memorized, so you only see the smoothies you know how to make.

To make one, pick a recipe and then pick a base. Confirm the mix, and the finished smoothie goes straight into your inventory, ready to drink. You learn new recipes by analyzing the right ingredients, which is how the list grows.

Ingredients come from the backyard's plants, bugs and creatures, so you'll be gathering as you go. Stick to the exact recipe, though. A mix that doesn't match one you've learned won't give you the smoothie's boost, so check the ingredients before you confirm.

Normal, Beefy and Sticky Bases

Every smoothie needs one base ingredient, and the base decides which version you get. The base doesn't change which smoothie you make. It only changes how much it heals and how long the boost lasts.

A normal smoothie uses Grub Sludge and heals 40 health, with the boost lasting 2 minutes. The beefy version uses Muscle Sprout, which doubles the healing to 80 while keeping the boost at 2 minutes. The sticky version uses Gum Nugget, which keeps the healing at 40 but doubles the boost to 4 minutes.

Pick the base based on what you're about to do. Go beefy when you're badly hurt and need the health now. Go sticky when the boost has to last through a long trip or a long fight.

Best Grounded Smoothies for Fights, Survival and Travel

If fighting is your main worry, start with Liquid Rage, Boss Sauce and Human Food. Liquid Rage boosts your attack damage, Boss Sauce gives you a better chance at critical hits, and Human Food cuts the damage you take overall. Together they cover both sides of a fight, so they're the first ones to look at when enemies are the problem.

For staying in the fight longer, look at Fuzz on the Rocks and Boost Juice. They raise your maximum health and stamina, so you have more to work with while the boost lasts. Green Machine helps your stamina come back faster, and Gastro Goo protects you from gas, which matters when gas is the threat.

Some smoothies are about getting around. Fluid Flippers make you faster in water, and Liquid Gills let you stay underwater longer. Worker's Comp lets you carry more planks at once, which saves trips when you're building. Hedge Lord slows how quickly hunger and thirst drop, which helps on long stretches far from food and water.

FAQ

Q.

What is Trickle Regen in Grounded?

Trickle Regen is a slow heal that works over time. It comes from Soothing Syrup's sticky version, the one made with a Gum Nugget base, while the normal and beefy versions only heal. It restores 5 health every 10 seconds for 4 minutes.

Q.

Which Grounded smoothie cures poison?

Waspidote is the one. It removes poison effects from you right away and cuts the poison damage you take by 25%. Its normal version also heals 40 health, and you unlock it by analyzing a Wasp Paper or a Wasp Shell.

Q.

What unlocks each Grounded smoothie recipe?

Boost Juice unlocks from Acorn Bits, Fuzz on the Rocks from Mite Fuzz, and Liquid Rage from Larva Spike. Human Food has the most options, since analyzing any one of Fresh Apple Bits, Fresh Billy Hog Bite or Fresh Cookie Sandwich Bits unlocks it.
