Defend your dome from alien attacks in this 2D tower defense game, and dig for resources between waves. Keeping your dome standing is the whole point. You dig through the ground with a drill to find what you need. Each run starts over with a new, randomly built map, so every run gives you fresh ground to explore.
Each run is split into rounds, and every round has two parts. First you dig underground and haul iron, water, and cobalt back to the dome, while a timer counts down to the next alien wave. When the wave hits, you fight from the dome, and each of the four domes (Laser, Sword, Artillery and Tesla) has its own weapon: a laser beam, a sword, mortar shells with an anti-air gun, or electric blasts. The resources you brought home pay for upgrades that make your weapons hit harder, your keeper move faster, and your drill dig deeper, so each round takes you a little further.
The main goal in the default Relic Hunt mode is to dig down to an ancient relic and bring it back to the dome. The relic is usually in the deepest layer, and its chamber stays sealed until you dig out 12 tough tiles and activate the nodes that work like keys. Once the relic reaches your dome, the final wave begins, and the run counts as a win even if some monsters are still alive. Losing your dome ends the run, and co-op and a two-team Versus mode support up to eight players online (local split-screen co-op is up to four).

Gadgets
Gadgets are add-on devices that help your dome, your keeper, and your mine during a run. Primary gadgets are picked before a run and sit in your dome, while additional gadgets are found in the mine and offered as a choice once you bring them home. Gadgets need room in specific slot types, so you can't carry everything you find. Each additional gadget also has a supplement of its own, found in a separate chamber in the mine.
Gadget Supplements
Gadget supplements are upgrades that boost or change one specific gadget in Dome Keeper. You find them in hidden chambers during a run, and opening one costs 1 water. When you return one to the dome, you can take one of two supplements or two cobalt instead. Because each one is tied to a single gadget, the best pick depends on what you're running.
Dome Keeper gameplay tips
- Change your gadgets to suit each Guild Assignment. Assignments ask for different things, so a loadout that works on one may fall flat on the next. When an assignment sends lots of weak monsters, pick gadgets with area damage, since one hit can clear a crowd.
- Use your primary gadget's battle ability during waves. Your primary gadget can use battle abilities mid-wave, and they're easy to forget about. Use them when enemies start hitting the dome hard, since that's when the extra help matters most.
- Save water to overcharge your primary gadget before a hard wave. Overcharging spends water and makes the gadget stronger for the upcoming wave. Hold it back until a tough wave is coming, because a boost on an easy wave is wasted water.
- Keep cobalt in reserve for repairs. Losing the dome ends the run, and repairs are what keep it standing when the waves get rough.
- Follow the wires to every node before you open the relic chamber. The wires run from the chamber out to the nodes, and the chamber stays sealed until they're all active. Wires don't always run in a straight line, so trace each one to its end, and interact with every node rather than just digging it out. That saves you from digging back down to find one you missed.
- Bring the relic home only when the dome is ready. The final wave starts as soon as the relic reaches the dome, so do your repairs and gadget overcharges before you leave. You don't need to kill every monster in that wave to win.
