All 10 Objects of Power and Where to Find Them in Control

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

In Control, Jesse Faden takes charge of the Federal Bureau of Control, a secret agency that contains paranatural threats. Objects of Power are ordinary-looking items, like a gun, a television or a carousel horse, that carry strange energy from another dimension. Binding one gives Jesse a new power for fights and exploring, and each one she finds is logged in her Case Files, so there's a full set to collect.

What Are Objects of Power in Control?

Objects of Power are a central part of Control's story and setting. Each one is an ordinary object, like a carousel horse or an old television, that carries power from the Astral Plane, a hidden layer of reality the Bureau keeps under watch. When Jesse cleanses and binds one, its power becomes hers, and every Object of Power she encounters is logged in her Case Files.

What Powers Do Objects of Power Give?

The core powers are Launch, Evade, Shield, Seize and Levitate. Launch hurls nearby objects at enemies, Evade is a quick dash that gets you out of danger, and Shield pulls debris into a barrier that blocks incoming attacks. Seize briefly takes control of a weakened enemy, and Levitate lets Jesse float above the ground. Each one changes how you move or fight, and quests reward Ability Points that you spend to make them stronger.

Not every Object of Power grants a power. The Hotline lets the Director speak with the Board, the Jukebox can carry listeners somewhere else, and others are studied by the Bureau rather than used in a fight.

How to Find and Cleanse Objects of Power

Finding an Object of Power is only the first step. Before Jesse can bind one, she has to cleanse it, which usually means clearing a challenge in the Astral Plane or finishing a course or puzzle tied to the object.

Not all of them sit on the main path, so some are easy to walk past. Explore side rooms, follow the signs and check locked areas once your clearance rises, since these often lead to an Object of Power. It's worth searching each sector fully instead of rushing from one story mission to the next.

Which Objects of Power Matter Most?

The Service Weapon matters most. It's the gun Jesse carries, and binding it is what makes her the Director. It has several forms, and you can switch between the ones you have equipped in a fight.

Launch and Levitate come from the main story, while Evade and Seize come from side missions, so those two are the easiest to miss. If you want every power, look for A Merry Chase in Maintenance and A Captive Audience in Research.

Objects of Power in Control Ultimate Edition

Ultimate Edition ties one Object of Power to its extra content. The Jukebox in Central Executive is where you start Expeditions, the timed challenge mode included in Ultimate Edition.

FAQ

Q.

Which Object of Power gives you Evade?

Evade comes from the Merry-Go-Round Horse. You reach it through a flashing break room near the Janitor's Office in the Maintenance Sector, and stepping inside starts the side mission A Merry Chase.

Q.

Which Object of Power gives you Levitate?

Levitate comes from the Benicoff TV. Jesse cleanses and binds it in the Panopticon in the Containment Sector during the story mission My Brother's Keeper.

Q.

Are Altered Items the same as Objects of Power?

No. Altered Items are also affected by paranatural energy, but they don't grant Jesse new powers. Objects of Power are the items that unlock her abilities.
