Every Cat Battles ability is a move you fire with Q, and most of them answer one problem in a fight: a grab, a push, a hit or a crowd. Pick the one that fits the fight you keep losing, not the one with the highest price or rarity.

Which Cat Battles Ability to Buy First
Pounce and Hiss both cost 750 Coins, so for your first unlock the question is whether grabs or distance is the bigger problem. Find the problem you keep running into:
| Problem or goal | Ability | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Dodging hits | Dash, which you start with | Free |
| Breaking a grab | Hiss | 750 Coins |
| Reaching a player fast | Pounce | 750 Coins |
| Resisting pushes | Anchor | 2,000 Coins |
| Opponents bunching up around you | Stomp | 2,000 Coins |
| A second life in a match | Nine Lives | 2,000 Coins |
| Moving faster | Catnip | 5,000 Coins |
| Knocking opponents farther | Fluff Up | 5,000 to 9,000 Coins |
| Making opponents slip | Hairball | 12,000 Coins |
Pricier Cat Battles Abilities Worth Saving For
Save 9,000 Coins if you're aiming for Fluff Up; its displayed price may be lower.
Hairball costs 12,000 Coins, 16 times what Pounce costs. It drops a slippery puddle that makes cats slip, so it's something you leave behind, not a move that chases a player. Save for it only if that's how you want to fight.
Cat Battles Ability Durations and Cooldowns
Duration is how long an ability stays active. Cooldown is how long you wait before using it again.
- Dash is active for 0.3 seconds and comes back after 6 seconds.
- Pounce and Hiss share a 14-second cooldown, but Pounce stays active for 1 second and Hiss for 0.1 seconds.
- Nine Lives and Wind Shurikens both have a 25-second cooldown.
