A sure catch sounds like the answer to everything, right up until you spend a Sparkling Cube on an Aniimo a basic Aniipod would have caught anyway. The trick is matching the pod to the odds, not buying the best one you can afford.

How Aniipod Catch Multipliers Work in Aniimo
Every Aniimo species has its own base catch chance, and your Aniipod multiplies it. The basic Aniipod is the baseline, Pro raises the odds a little, and Mega, Hyper and Track double them. Aniipod Ultra and the Sparkling Cube skip the roll altogether.
The pod is only one multiplier. Throwing from behind or breaking the Aniimo first both raise your odds, and so does catching it while it's asleep. Stack those together and a cheap pod can do the job of an expensive one.
Which Aniipod to Throw: Mega, Hyper, Track or Tumbler?
Find the Aniimo you're after on the full roster, then start with the weakest pod that clears the bar. Keep the guaranteed ones for catches you can't repeat. Mega, Hyper and Track share the same bonus, so pick by how you play. Mega is the easy one to restock, since shops, quests, chests and home production all hand it out. Hyper flies faster and farther, which helps when you can't get close. Track steers toward nearby Aniimo after you throw.
Tumbler works differently. You roll it instead of throwing it, and it tries every Aniimo it passes. Save it for a crowd, especially one pulled together by nurturing, where its bonus is largest.
When a Guaranteed Aniipod Is Worth Spending
Aniipod Ultra and the Sparkling Cube never fail, so they belong on catches you can't retry. Ultra also guarantees at least Elite Potential. The Cube goes further with Perfect Potential and a Sparkling look, which makes it the pod for a Prismana you worked for during a Wild Surge, or any Aniimo you plan to keep for good. Look over its skills before you commit one. Throwing either pod at something a basic Aniipod would have caught is the mistake that empties a stash fastest.
Legendary Aniimo Have Their Own Aniipods
The Legendary Aniipod is made for Vein Rifts, where it calms and captures a Legendary Aniimo. The Irisalis pod and the Departure with the Wind pod are both crafted from Irisalis Petals, so plan your petals around them.
FAQ
Can you get an Aniipod Ultra or a Sparkling Cube without buying one?
Yes. Elite Training pays out both, and the Outpost Vendor trades for each.
Can you make Aniipods yourself?
The everyday ones, yes. The basic Aniipod, Pro and Mega can all be produced in your Homeland, so a stash doesn't have to be bought outright.
