Your team in Idyll is mostly what you catch, one Aniipod throw at a time. Then you Twine with an Aniimo, take it over and play as it, using its skills in real-time fights. You're a Pathfinder for the Polaris Institute, and the open continent of Idyll gives you regions like the Nimbus Fields, the Mistwoods and the Tideblossom Coast to explore.
Every Aniimo carries one or two of nine elements and one of five roles (DPS, Break, Support, Heal or Regen), and you build a party of four around them. The real chase is the rare stuff: Prismana, Sparkling and Umbral versions. Between hunts, your RV Homeland has Aniimo working production jobs, and Operation: Egg Heist is the squad mode, with extraction runs through the Sanctum. Whatever you bring, it needs good skills and a held item worth its slot.

Game data
Aniimo
Every Aniimo here has an element or a pair of them, a role, a set of base stats and a trait. Most also sit on an evolution line, so you can see what each one grows into. Use it to decide who to hunt, who to raise and which branch fills the gap in your party.
Skills
Every Aniimo has a free basic attack, and most skills spend EP. Ultimates belong to a single Aniimo each, and plenty of skills hide their best effect behind a dodge, a counter or a mark set up by an earlier skill. Check the element, EP cost and who learns a skill before you build around it.
Held Items
Held items are the gear an Aniimo carries into battle. Each comes as Rare, Epic or Legendary, drops from Alphas and chests, and at +15 a Legendary can take a contract that upgrades a signature skill for a whole Aniimo family.
Aniipods
Aniipods are the devices you throw to catch Aniimo. Higher-tier pods multiply your catch chance, Ultra and the Sparkling Cube never fail, and Legendary Aniipods handle Legendary Aniimo.
Aniimo gameplay tips
- Pick Helion or Lunara in the main-story quest The Mysterious Cavern. Both are Light DPS Aniimo that stay useful late, so whichever you choose makes a solid anchor. Build the rest of your party around it, and see how it compares in the Aniimo list.
- Learn the element chart before your first hard fight. A super-effective hit deals 1.6x damage, and Dark is the one to watch: it beats Lightning, Grass and Light, while Wind and Light hit it for 1.6x. Your Light starter sits on both sides of that matchup, hitting Dark for 1.6x while Dark hits it back for 1.6x.
- Break a wild Aniimo, or hit it from behind with a stagger or sleep, before you throw an Aniipod. When one catch really matters, an Aniipod Ultra guarantees it and the Aniimo comes out with at least Elite Potential. The Aniipods list shows what each one adds.
- Spend your free nurtures before they cap out. Nurturing a region's Bloom sets off a Wild Surge, and a full Prismatic Energy gauge guarantees a Prismana spawn. Free nurtures bank up to three and refill one every 24 hours, so use them before you hit the cap or the refill goes to waste. When the Prismana appears, throw a Sparkling Cube if you have one: it guarantees the catch, Perfect Potential and the Sparkling look.
- Check the weather and the clock before you go hunting. Some forms only spawn in the right conditions: Rainstorm Stellarys and Thunderstorm Thornblade need their storms, and Flamerion only comes out at night.
- Take the free pick from the Prismana Pact as soon as you reach Grade I Wayfarer, and choose the one that fills the gap in your party. Check its element and role against what you're missing first.
- Use Tunnel as a dodge. A tunneling Aniimo is immune to all ranged attacks, so slipping underground beats standing in front of a ranged enemy. Browse the skills list for Tunnel, Pound and the other movement skills before you pick your party's moves.
