Choosing an animal to keep
Compare mutations on the same kind of animal. Species and upgrades also affect earnings, so a Rainbow label alone does not tell you which animal will earn more. Check the animal's income before replacing one that already works at your base.
A mutation is separate from rarity. Gold and Diamond describe variants here, so do not treat those labels as a different animal species or a rarity tier.
Hatching a mutated egg
Bring the egg to your base and place it in a hatch spot. Wait for the countdown, then use Open to hatch it. The animal keeps the egg's mutation, so you do not need to find that variant again after hatching.

Are Gold and Golden different mutations?
No. Gold and Golden name the same variant. Both refer to the mutation with a 2x income and sale multiplier.
Can weather change an animal I already own?
No. Matching weather creates chances to find mutated eggs in the field. It does not change animals already at your base or in your inventory.
Can an egg or animal have stacked mutations?
No. An egg or animal can have only one mutation. You cannot combine Gold with a weather variant to multiply their bonuses together.
