Dumbbells set your base Strength gain while you train in +1 Strength for Eggs. A stronger one helps you build the Strength needed for tougher walls, but its Cash price can be a bigger hurdle than its rarity label.

Choosing your next dumbbell
Compare the Strength per second increase with the Cash you need to spend. A rarer dumbbell still needs to fit your budget. Check how much more training power an offer gives you before saving for its name alone.
Your animals bring in the Cash that funds equipment purchases. If the next dumbbell is out of reach, improve that income while you keep training with your equipped one.
Training power and other upgrades
The equipment rate is its base Strength gain. Boosts can change the gain you see while training, so a boosted character's number is not the same as the dumbbell's own rate.
Check the Strength requirement on the next wall to decide whether more training power will solve your immediate problem. Dumbbells improve training. Speed and carry upgrades handle movement and how much you can bring back, so buy those separately when that is what slows you down.
