A forged Katana or Greatsword comes with one random skill from that weapon's pool. You use it with Q, then wait out the cooldown. The rank, the damage percent, and that wait are what separate one roll from the next.
How to use this collection
Weapon is the forge pool, Katana or Greatsword. A blank weapon means the pool was not recorded, not that the skill fits either weapon. Rank is the Index letter from D to SS, and a blank rank was not recorded. Damage is the printed percent. The word total means that percent covers the whole move, not one swing inside it. Cooldown is the wait after you use the skill. A blank damage line is missing data, not zero.
Weapon
Katana
These ranks and percents are guide values, not a creator patch list. Some notes put this pool on Greatsword instead. Named Katana tooltips match Light Slash, a forward slash at 200% on a 6-second cooldown, and a whirlwind, the motion that matches Endless Gale. This pool stays on Katana for that reason. The other moves follow the same split, even where a named weapon was not checked.
Wavebreak Slash is not a single skill. The S version and the SS version share the name, and the rank on the weapon is what separates them.

Greatsword
These ranks and percents are guide values, not a creator patch list. Some notes put this pool on Katana instead. No named Greatsword was tied to these moves. They stay together because the weapon pools are separate sets, and the Katana side is the one that matched a named tooltip.

Unconfirmed
Astral Burst Domain comes from one wiki report. No weapon, rank, or damage percent was recorded, and only an 8-second cooldown was. Do not treat it as a Katana or Greatsword roll.

The forge roll
You do not pick the skill yourself. A Katana cannot land a Greatsword skill, and a Greatsword cannot land a Katana skill.
A rarer ore is not a confirmed way to force a higher rank. Forge the craft you want. The skill you get is the one that landed, not the one you hoped for.
A paid second skill is reported. The price is not settled, and nothing says the extra skill stays on that weapon. If a button asks for Robux, trust the prompt in game, not a number from a post.
When the letter and the percent disagree
Rank letters run D, C, B, A, S, then SS. That letter is the Index rank, not a damage ladder.
| Skill | Rank | Printed damage |
|---|---|---|
| Blazing Pierce | SS | 300% total |
| Lightbreak Slash | A | 620% |
| Rage Frenzy Slash | S | 600% total |
The table is a mismatch, not a power ranking. Blazing Pierce is SS at 300% total, a smaller printed percent than lower ranks. The badge can talk bigger than the hit.
Whirl Strike prints 300%. Fury Slash prints 300% total. The word total covers the whole move, not each swing, so those notes are not equal hits.
A cooldown is only the wait after you use the skill. Read it beside the percent, so a quick hit and a slow hit stay different jobs.
Wavebreak Slash
The S Wavebreak Slash is a forward attack at 450% total with a 6-second cooldown. Treat it as a forward attack, because the motion is not settled. The SS Wavebreak Slash is a forward slash that ends in an explosion, at 700% total with a 7-second cooldown.
Do not fold them into one move. Check the rank on the weapon you are holding.
Skill Index
The lobby statue is the Skill Index. It logs skills you have found and shows ranks from D through SS. It is not the red item-index book.
FAQ
Are Katana skills better than Greatsword skills?
Compare the individual skill on your weapon: its damage percent, cooldown, and motion. A different weapon pool alone does not tell you which roll will work better for your next fight.
Is Lightbreaker Slash a different skill?
No. Lightbreaker Slash is another spelling of Lightbreak Slash, the Greatsword forward slash at 620% with a 6-second cooldown. It is not a second move.
What if the damage on my weapon does not match?
Updates can change the damage values. Check the number on the weapon in your hand before deciding which skill to use.
Does the Skill Index give a reward?
A reward for filling the Skill Index is not confirmed. The statue records the skills you have found and their ranks. Do not plan a payout around completing it.
