Minecraft mobs include animals, hostile creatures, villagers and bosses. Their health, spawning rules and uses differ. Choose Java or Bedrock to see the entries and facts recorded for that edition.
How to use this collection
Health values use points, not hearts. Spawn categories are game groupings and do not describe how aggressive every mob is. Drop lists show possible items without guaranteed quantities or chances.

Finding a mob
Search by name, then compare its health, possible drops and spawning information. Natural-spawn biomes describe biome spawn rules. They do not cover every structure, event, spawner or player-created encounter. A mob with no listed natural biome may still appear through one of those other routes.
Health and variants
Health is measured in points, with two points equal to one heart. Some mobs have health that depends on size, traits or state. Read the health notes before treating a base value as the health of every variant. Difficulty, equipment and special behavior can also change how a fight plays out.
Taming and breeding
Taming items and breeding items have different purposes. Feeding a mob can heal it or affect growth without making it breed. Where an entry lists breeding food, other conditions can still apply, including adulthood, taming and full health. Sterile mobs and animals that cannot breed have no breeding-food entry.
Drops and availability
Possible drops identify items in the mob's drop rules. They are not a guarantee from every kill. Looting, a player kill, equipment, age or another condition can affect the result. Command-only types are marked separately so they are not mistaken for ordinary survival encounters.
Compare the editions
Java and Bedrock have separate mob rules. The selector changes the available entries and edition-specific values. An empty field means that detail is not recorded for the selected edition; it does not mean the mob lacks that behavior. Images show a representative form, rather than every age, color or equipment variant.
FAQ
Does every mob spawn naturally?
No. Some appear through structures, events, spawners or player actions. Command-only types are identified in their availability field.
Can a listed food both tame and breed a mob?
Some foods have several uses, but the rules depend on the mob. Read taming and breeding separately and check any conditions in the entry.
Does a possible drop happen after every kill?
No. Drops can depend on chance and conditions such as who killed the mob, its equipment or its state.
