Bearing-only uncertainty bounds: X 495.637 to 504.363, Z 495.656 to 504.382.
Java yaw is 0 toward positive Z, 90 toward negative X, and -90 toward positive X. Face along each Eye of Ender's horizontal flight and record the throw position. Both throws must target the same stronghold. This estimates a horizontal intersection, not portal-room coordinates or depth. On Bedrock you must measure bearings in this convention yourself.
How to use this tool
Record two Overworld throw positions and the horizontal yaw along each Eye of Ender's flight. Enter those observations and a possible angular error. The result estimates where the two forward bearings intersect.
Recording useful observations
Use Minecraft's yaw convention: zero points toward positive Z, 90 toward negative X, and -90 toward positive X. Java displays yaw in its debug information. Bedrock players need to measure their bearings in the same convention. Move sideways between observations to separate the sight lines; walking straight toward the first bearing often leaves a weak intersection.
What uncertainty means
The reported bounds vary both bearings within your chosen error range. Nearly parallel lines amplify small measurement errors, and a range crossing parallel bearings cannot produce a reliable finite box. The tool reports that instability instead of pretending a distant intersection is precise. Bounds only cover angular error. Position error, a moving Eye, or throws targeting different strongholds are additional sources of error.
What the result does not locate
This is a horizontal estimate. It does not predict structure generation, depth, the exact stairwell, or a portal room. Both Eyes must target the same stronghold, and intersections behind a throw position are rejected. Make another throw near the estimate before digging, and prepare for the stronghold itself.
FAQ
Does this find the portal room?
No. It estimates the intersection of two horizontal directions. The portal room needs exploration inside the stronghold.
Why are nearly parallel observations unreliable?
A small change in either angle can move their intersection a long distance. Moving sideways gives a stronger angle.
Can I use Bedrock bearings?
Yes if you measure them in the stated yaw convention. Bedrock does not expose Java's debug yaw display.
Are the uncertainty bounds a probability?
No. They are geometric bounds under the entered bearing-error assumption, not a statistical confidence interval.
