The selected item's stack limit controls the calculation. Containers are empty and hold only this item. Filled containers and bundled contents are outside this estimate.
How to use this tool
Choose an item, enter its quantity, and select a container. The calculator uses the item's actual stack limit rather than assuming every item stacks to 64.
Reading the storage result
Full stacks and the remainder describe the items themselves. Occupied slots include a partial stack when one is needed. Container requirements assume empty containers dedicated to the selected item. A double chest has 54 slots; a chest or shulker box has 27. Hoppers and dispensers have fewer slots.
Stack limits depend on the item
Equipment and many filled containers do not stack like building blocks. Select the exact item before planning storage. Damage, enchantments, names, and other components can also stop otherwise stackable items from combining. This estimate assumes identical items with matching components and does not treat container contents as extra storage.
FAQ
Does the last partial stack use a slot?
Yes. Any nonzero remainder needs one occupied slot.
Can I mix several items in this result?
This calculator plans one item type. Mixed inventories need separate occupied-slot totals, especially when their stack sizes differ.
Are named or damaged items included?
The base item stack limit is included. Items with different components may not combine into the same stack.
