Spray Paint IDs are Roblox Decal IDs you can paste into the classic Spray Paint gear. Preview a picture, copy its public Decal ID, and use the paired Image ID only in games that ask for the underlying picture or texture.

How to use Roblox Spray Paint IDs
- Join an experience that allows the classic Roblox Spray Paint gear.
- Equip the Spray Paint tool and open its Decal Id box.
- Copy the public Decal ID shown for the picture.
- Paste the number into the box.
- Select a surface that the experience allows you to paint.
The experience must support the gear and permit painting on that surface. A valid Roblox image will not add the tool to a game that has disabled gear.
Which ID should you paste into the Spray Paint tool?
Start with the public Decal ID. The classic Spray Paint gear was built to accept that number, then its old script subtracts one to reach the image stored behind the decal. Passing the Image ID into that same box makes the tool subtract again, which can send it to the wrong asset.
The Image ID, also called the texture ID, is a separate number for the picture behind the public decal. Some newer games and custom image fields ask for this direct image number instead. Use it only when that game says it wants an Image or texture ID, or when the exact input has been tested with it.
Never guess the paired number by adding or removing digits. Older Decal and Image pairs were often one number apart, but modern pairs can be farther away. Copy the exact pair shown with the picture.
Roblox Spray Paint gear vs the Spray Paint! experience
The classic Spray Paint gear is an Avatar Shop tool with a Decal ID box. Spray Paint! by SheriffTaco is a separate freehand drawing experience with brushes, colors, rulers, and other art tools.
These IDs are not claimed to work in the SheriffTaco experience because its current official description does not document a custom Decal or Image ID field.
Why a Spray Paint ID may show the wrong image or fail
The classic tool uses an old shortcut: it subtracts one from the Decal ID. That fits many older Roblox uploads, but modern Decal and Image pairs are not always next to each other. A modern Decal can therefore show the wrong picture or nothing at all in the classic gear, even when the decal itself still exists.
An ID can also fail if Roblox removed or restricted the image, its creator changed access, the experience blocks gear, or the selected surface cannot be painted. Check that you copied the public Decal ID rather than the paired Image ID. If the tool still loads the wrong picture, choose another verified design instead of changing digits.
For a newer game with its own image field, follow that game's label. Use the paired Image or texture ID only when the field asks for it.
How Roblox Spray Paint IDs are verified
Each listed picture is checked as a public Roblox Decal rather than a place, model, script, audio asset, or another unrelated item. Its Roblox name, creator, asset type, paired Image ID when available, and image preview are also checked before it is included. A Decal/Image pair is shown once, not as two copies of the same picture.
These checks confirm what the Roblox assets are and whether a preview is available. They do not guarantee that every experience, server, or future version of the classic tool will accept the ID. Roblox moderation, asset access, and game rules can change later.
Roblox Spray Paint IDs FAQ
Where do I paste a Roblox Spray Paint ID?
Equip the classic Spray Paint gear in an experience that allows it, open the Decal Id box, and paste the public Decal ID. Then select a surface that the experience permits you to paint.
What is the difference between a Decal ID and an Image ID?
The Decal ID identifies the public Roblox decal. The Image ID, also called the texture ID, identifies the picture stored behind it. They can show the same picture while using different numbers.
Why is the public Decal ID copied first?
The classic Roblox Spray Paint gear is built to accept a public Decal ID. Its old script subtracts one before loading the image, so pasting an Image ID into that box can point the tool at the wrong asset.
Do all modern Roblox decals work with the classic Spray Paint gear?
No. The classic tool assumes the linked Image ID is exactly one number below the Decal ID. Many modern pairs are farther apart, so a valid modern decal can still show the wrong picture or fail in that tool.
Do these IDs work in Spray Paint! by SheriffTaco?
That is not claimed here. Spray Paint! is a separate freehand drawing experience, and its current official description does not document a custom Decal or Image ID field.
Are Spray Paint IDs redeem codes?
No. They are Roblox asset numbers for images. They do not redeem currency, items, account rewards, or paint colors.
Why did a Spray Paint ID load the wrong picture?
The classic tool may have subtracted one from a modern Decal ID whose paired Image is not one number lower. Confirm that you copied the public Decal ID, then choose another design if the wrong image still appears.
Can a Spray Paint ID stop loading later?
Yes. Roblox can moderate or restrict an image, its creator can change access, and an experience can change its gear or image rules. Pick another verified design if an older ID disappears.
Can I use my own Roblox image with the Spray Paint gear?
You can upload an image through Roblox and wait for moderation, but modern Decal and Image pairs may not follow the old one-number-apart rule used by the classic gear. A valid new decal is therefore not guaranteed to work with that tool.
