The in-game Toon license uses the name Waxwell. To buy him, reach 50% Twisted Waxwell Research, complete any three of Goob's Mastery Quests, and save 3,500 Ichor. The 100% research goal is separate because it unlocks the Cherished Blanket for one of Waxwell's later mastery tasks.
Waxwell gives you speed, strong Skill Checks, and a useful team ability, but his stamina is stingy. Unlocking him is the first job. Learning when to sprint, walk, and light the trail is where the real work starts.

Finish these three requirements before buying Waxwell.
Dandy's shop checks all three gates when you open the Toon license. Keep the Ichor ready before you spend time on the research grind.

- Reach 50% Twisted Waxwell Research. This is the research requirement for the license.
- Complete any three Goob Mastery Quests. You do not need to finish all six.
- Pay 3,500 Ichor. Have the full amount available when you buy the license.
If Goob is still locked, his route costs 1,750 Ichor and requires three completed Scraps Mastery Quests. Those Scraps objectives are to use the active ability 100 times, survive three Floors with four other players, travel 100,000 meters, pick up 80 Items, survive 25 Floors with Scraps in the round, and use 80 Items. Plan that detour early if Goob is not already in your roster.
Build Twisted Waxwell Research to 50%.
Twisted Waxwell is a Rare Twisted that leaves flame trails while roaming. He does not directly damage Toons. When a Toon gets close, he stops producing flames and runs away, so the encounter is more about closing the gap than winning a chase.

Check the Daily Twisted Board before a run so you know when to look for him. When you find him, approach his small circle and step into it to extinguish the flame and earn encounter research. Collect matching Research Capsules when the room is safe. Other Twisteds still make the floor dangerous, even when Twisted Waxwell is trying very hard to leave.
The research meter gives 5% for a first-floor encounter and 1% for each matching Research Capsule. Research progress carries between runs, and Rodger doubles research gains. The exact numbers can change with game updates, so use the in-game research meter as your final check.
You only need 50% to buy Waxwell. Keep going to 100% if you want the Cherished Blanket. That Trinket is required for the mastery objective that asks you to reach Floor 10 with it equipped, so stopping at the license gate leaves one long task waiting later. Use the same runs to complete machines, collect safe Ichor, and build progress toward Goob's three-quest requirement.
Complete Waxwell's six Mastery Quests.
Waxwell's Mastery panel tracks six objectives. The list below matches the in-game tasks, including the objectives that need another player or a late-floor run.

- Use this Toon's Active Ability 80 times.
- Experience 8 Blackouts.
- Complete 60 Duo Machines with another player.
- Complete Floor 10 with the Cherished Blanket equipped.
- Travel 111,000 meters.
- Use 30 Instructions.
After all six are complete, claim the finished reward in the UI to receive the Vintage Waxwell skin. The game does not hand it over just because the checklist is full.
For Duo Machines, queue with a friend or join players who are already working on one. You cannot finish that objective alone because another player must be on the machine with you.
Buy or save Instructions from Dandy's Elevator Shop, then use them while extracting instead of hoarding them forever. Blackouts and travel will build during normal runs, while the Floor 10 task should wait until you have reached 100% research and claimed the Cherished Blanket.
Waxwell's permanent Tired II makes his one-star Stamina the main drawback. Walk between chase bursts and save sprinting for danger. His Active Ability, Ignite, removes Tired II for 10 seconds and leaves a flame trail while he moves. Other Toons who touch the trail get Ignited for 5 seconds, which makes their ability cooldowns recover twice as fast.
Ignite does not help Waxwell himself, does not stack, and has a 60-second cooldown. Use it when a teammate can cross the trail or when clearing Tired II will help you escape. Pressing it alone in a quiet hallway wastes the best part of the ability, plus the cooldown gets to sit there looking important. Cooldown-reduction, stamina, or mobility Trinkets can help, but treat them as optional support for a stamina problem, not a replacement for careful movement.
Use Waxwell as a fast hybrid Toon.
Waxwell works best as a hybrid distractor and support Toon. His movement and Skill Check ratings are excellent, while his extraction speed and stamina ask you to choose your moments instead of sprinting everywhere.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Hearts | 3 |
| Skill Check | 5 stars: size 250, value 3, speed 5, 25% chance |
| Movement Speed | 5 stars: walk 20, sprint 30 |
| Stamina | 1 star: 100 |
| Stealth | 2 stars: 5 |
| Extraction Speed | 2 stars: 0.85 |
The fast movement helps with distracting Twisteds and reaching machines. The strong Skill Check gives you more room to contribute while extracting. The one-star Stamina and permanent Tired II are the price, so rotate off long machine sessions when your stamina is low and use Ignite with a plan.
