Blade Ball represented 2023 in The Hunt: Roblox 20. The event unlocked its years in chronological order, so you could not freely select the 2023 hub at the start. Work through the earlier hubs, then use the gray Roblox model to move to the next year when that option appears.
Once the 2023 area opens, continue toward its spawn point. The shooting task starts there, not inside a separate Blade Ball match.
How to start the Blade Ball 2023 hub challenge
Look for chunchbunch, the NPC near the 2023 hub's spawn point. Speak to chunchbunch to start the challenge and accept the supplied Hyperlaser gun. Some walkthroughs call it a laser gun, but you do not need to bring a separate weapon or Blade Ball loadout.
How to shoot all eight orbs in the Blade Ball 2023 hub
The task places eight red orbs above and around the 2023 hub platforms. There is no supported fixed firing order or exact coordinate list, so scan the sky and the spaces around the structures after chunchbunch gives you the Hyperlaser.
- Aim at a red orb and fire the Hyperlaser. The orbs follow scripted, mostly circular paths, so aim where the target is moving rather than where it was a moment ago.
- Wait through the gun's short delay between shots. The weapon does not fire continuously, and the laser takes time to reach a moving target.
- Keep tracking the targets until all eight register. A successful hit turns an orb blue or counts it toward the completed total. If an orb is still red, it has not registered yet.
Aiming tip for PC players
Switch to first-person view if the hub structures make the targets hard to line up. On PC, use the mouse wheel or press the I key to enter first person, then lead each orb's path before firing.
What to do after the Blade Ball hub challenge
Hitting the eighth orb does not finish the hub step by itself. Return to chunchbunch in the 2023 area and speak to the NPC a second time. That conversation registers the challenge and was required before the hub's next route could open.
If the portal was still locked during the event, check that all eight orbs had turned blue or counted as complete, then return to chunchbunch again. Do not leave after the last shot without completing the second interaction.
Does the Blade Ball hub challenge unlock The Last Deflection?
No. The orb challenge completes the hub-side task, but The Last Deflection also required a separate Blade Ball event objective. After completing that game-side objective, players returned to the 2023 hub and interacted with the reward podium near spawn.
