What Traits Do in Anime Mysterious
Traits are passive boosts you attach to a unit, and the bonus stays active for as long as that unit is on the field. They can change attack, attack speed, critical chance and damage, skill damage and cooldown, health, evasion, range, speed, placement cost and how many units spawn. Some of the biggest boosts come with a catch, so the biggest number isn't always the right pick.
You set them in the Upgrades area, where applying or rerolling one spends Trait Rerolls.

How to Use Trait Rerolls in Anime Mysterious
The Traits menu has a trait list, a unit slot and a Reroll button, and you use it from the Upgrades area.

You can earn Trait Rerolls as random stage-clear rewards and from Battle Pass level-ups. They aren't easy to come by, so save them for units you plan to keep using.
Which Anime Mysterious Trait Should You Keep?
Absolute Ego has the biggest single Attack boost on the list at +200%. It also adds Attack Speed, Critical Chance, Critical Damage and Skill Damage boosts, plus a 15% placement cost cut. That's a lot of offense in one Trait.
Absolute Ego's Placement Cap
The catch is the placement limit. Absolute Ego sets the unit placement limit to one per battle, so it suits a unit you'll place once and build your plan around. If your plan needs several copies of that unit in one battle, look for a Trait without the cap.
Picking a Trait by Stat
Read the rest by the stat you want to push.
- Critical hits: Phantom Blade has the biggest crit boosts on the list, but its 10% Attack Speed penalty hurts a unit that relies on fast attacks. Cross X adds crit chance, crit damage and Attack with no listed downside, and Executioner is a straight crit damage pick.
- Range: Precision Shooter is range and nothing else. Aura Explosion also adds range, along with Skill Damage, a bigger Skill Cooldown cut and a 25% placement cost cut, so it's the broader pick.
- Attack Speed and Speed: Human AS and Speed Increase each cover one stat. Energy Arrow pairs the two, and Efficient King adds Speed and a Skill Cooldown cut on top of its Attack Speed boost.
- Health and damage: Eternal Guardian leans on Health and Evasion Rate, with range and a small placement discount on top. Punch Explosion trades 10% Health for Attack and Attack Speed, so it suits a unit meant to hit harder rather than last longer.
- Spawning and placement: Twin Stars spawns 2 units and cuts Spawn Cooldown and Placement Cost. Health Demon raises Placement Cost by 10% in exchange for Attack and Health.
Before you spend a reroll, check the Trait's main boost against the stat your unit depends on, then check the downside. If the boost doesn't touch that stat, save the roll for a unit it helps.
