Superhero Arena is a fighting game on Roblox, made by The Duelists, where you play as comic book heroes and villains. Each character comes with its own abilities, so the one you pick changes how you fight, whether that's a ranged blast, a leaping slam or a web. Characters are chosen in the game's lobby and unlocked as you play, and knowing how that works helps you pick the right fighter.

How to Equip a Character in Superhero Arena
Characters are picked in the lobby, not in the middle of a match. Each one stands on its own pedestal, and to equip it you walk up and hold the Interact button. A message confirms the switch, and your character model changes right away, so you can see it's done. Then step through the glowing portal to join the fight.
You can only bring one character into a match, so the pick you make at the pedestal is the one you fight with. Take a second to check it before you go through the portal. That small pause saves you from heading back to the lobby just to swap.
How to Unlock Characters in Superhero Arena
Most characters unlock through fighting. Defeating opponents helps you progress toward new heroes. Iron Man is free, and he's the character every new player starts with, so you have a fighter from your very first match.
Each pedestal in the lobby shows what its character requires. Trust the label on the pedestal itself, since that's the requirement your own lobby is showing. When you meet it during a match, a banner tells you the character is unlocked, and the pedestal changes to Owned.
Power Coins, which you earn in fights, count toward some characters, and a few can also be bought with Robux, Roblox's own currency. The pedestal label tells you which route applies to each character, so you don't have to guess.
Superhero Arena Character Abilities: Iron Man, Hulk and Spider-Man
Every character has a dash on Q, a quick burst of movement. Their other abilities sit on E, F and R, and they're unique to each fighter, so the same key can do something very different depending on who you're playing. Each ability has its own cooldown, so you can't use it again right away.
Iron Man's Repulsor Blast is on E, a ranged energy shot. His Unibeam on R is a continuous laser from his chest, so it holds steady rather than firing once.
Hulk's Hulk Throw on E hurls debris, barrels and cars at opponents. His Hulk Smash on F is a leaping slam that creates a shockwave, but if the leap misses, Hulk is stuck recovering for a long time. It's worth waiting for a clear opening before you commit to it.
Spider-Man's Web Shot on E is a ranged web that stuns what it hits. Web Pull on F yanks a tethered target toward him, and Spidey Combo on R is a close-range finisher.
Abilities like these change how you approach each fight, from keeping your distance to getting in close, so the best fit depends on how you like to play. Since every character plays differently, trying a few is the easiest way to find a style you enjoy.
FAQ
Is Galactic Thanos the same character as Thanos?
No. Galactic Thanos is a separate character, so unlocking or buying regular Thanos doesn't open him up. The two have different requirements, so check each pedestal before you work toward either one.
Can you switch characters during a match?
No. Once you're through the portal, you fight as the character you equipped until you go back to the lobby. Falling into the ocean or running out of health sends you back there automatically, and that's when you can swap at a different pedestal.
Does unlocking a character equip it automatically?
No. An unlock only opens the character for you. If it happens mid-match, you keep fighting as the character you brought in, and the new one goes into play only after you equip it at its pedestal in the lobby.
