Titans are the oversized enemies in Empires of the Undergrowth, and they're far bigger than the ordinary creatures you meet in a mission. That size changes how a fight plays out. Knowing what Titans are and how they fight helps you prepare before one shows up.

What Are Titans in Empires of the Undergrowth?
Titans come in several animal forms, from spiders and centipedes to scorpions, frogs, crabs and snakes. Their size is what they all share. A Titan is too large to get through a nest entrance, so it can't come inside, which means every Titan fight takes place outside the nest.
How Do Titans Fight?
Titans can hit several enemies at once, so a group of ants standing close together can all be caught by the same blow. Ants can also climb onto a Titan and ride it.
Each Titan's health bar is enlarged and shown under your resource bar, even when creature info is turned off.
How Does Difficulty Change a Titan?
A Titan's size and health follow the difficulty you choose, so the same Titan looks bigger and takes longer to bring down on a harder setting. Its abilities and other stats stay the same.
In Freeplay, Titans only appear as landmarks on the map. They're always level 1, and power scaling doesn't affect them.
Which Titans Came From Which Update?
Several Titans come from older updates, including the huge whip spider, American bullfrog, great blue skimmer, sun spider, African giant centipede and emperor scorpion. Beach Brawl added the European shore crab and the sand lizard, and the Chowder extra level is built around one very large shore crab.
The SWAMPED! update added the rough green snake and the adult eastern newt. One of those two patrols the Creek map in skirmishes.
FAQ
What level is a Titan on each difficulty?
On easy, medium and hard, a Titan is level 1. It's level 2 on extreme and level 3 on impossible.
Can you harvest a Titan after you kill it?
Yes. Eight or more ants can harvest a dead Titan at the same time. In Freeplay, a dead Titan disappears after 10 minutes, so there's a short window to harvest it there.
Can you turn off Titans in a custom game?
Yes, since the Beach Brawl update. The custom game setup lets you switch huge creatures on or off, and that controls what spawns at their landmarks.
