You jump off a high cliff, pull off flips, twists and other moves in the air, and try to land in the pool at the bottom. Those moves are called tricks, and they're how a dive earns a bigger score.

What Tricks Do in Crazy Diver
Tricks are the extra moves you add to a dive once you leave the cliff. You don't need any of them to clear a level, since a level is cleared by getting past the obstacles and landing in the pool. What they do is raise your score, because tricks add points. Chaining several tricks into one dive stacks those points up, so a run of moves earns more than a single one.
Those points feed the end-of-level score, and that score decides how many Coins you earn. They only count when you clear the level, though. A dive that hits an obstacle won't add its tricks to your Coins, so the tricks don't help unless you finish the level.
How to Do Tricks: Button Combos Explained
Every trick is a short combination of keys, and most are built from the same few pieces. Space is the jump, and Shift is the key that sets up a flip. Add W and you get a frontflip, S shows up in the back-rotation tricks, and A or D brings in sideways moves and twists. Once you know those pieces, most of the list starts to make sense.
V and C can stand in for Shift when you take off. Holding V gives you a layout, and holding C gives you a pike. Once you're in the air, E, F and X add a round kick, a hook kick or a split.
Timing is the last piece. Some twists want you to hold A or D through the whole spin, while others need one quick tap at the right moment. Multi-rotation flips usually mean holding Shift for longer, so the spin keeps going.
How the Crazy Diver Trick Book Groups Moves
Press K, or click the Tricks button in the top-left corner, to open the Trick Book. It holds the tricks, sorted into groups: Flips, Side & Off-Axis, Twists, Spins & Kicks, Variations, Water and Free Mode Bonuses.
The groups are a handy way to study. Some variations change how a flip starts, so learning the basic flips first makes those easier to follow. The last group, Free Mode Bonuses, has tricks tied to specific parts of a dive: a release timed right before the water, a move done as you land, and a swing on a plank.
How High You Need to Be for Big Flips
Some tricks have a height requirement. Double Back and Double Front need at least 8 meters, and Triple Back needs at least 20 meters. Other tricks in the book are marked high-up or very high, so the bigger the flip, the higher the spot you'll want.
The reason is time. Each extra spin takes time to finish, and a low dive doesn't give you enough air for it. If a big flip isn't working for you, check your height before you blame your timing.
Water Entries and Why They Matter
The water is where every dive ends, and the water tricks are scored like any other trick. A Perfect Entry comes from releasing Shift before you hit the water. A Cannonball is the opposite, since you stay in Shift as you go in. Because the water is the last thing before your score is counted, it's worth practicing your entry as much as your flips.
The Trapeze works differently, and it only appears on levels that have one. You press Space to grab it, W or S to swing, and Space again to let go.
FAQ
What happens if I hit an obstacle?
You're sent back to the starting point and have to start the attempt over.
Can I watch a replay of my dive?
Yes. After you clear a level, you can watch a replay of that attempt, which is a simple way to check how your flips and water entry looked.
