In a still room, you feel it—first, the smile. An impossibly wide grin, pale and slick, floating in the darkness. Then it moves: not with feet, but skirting the walls, limbs too-long and crooked, reaching out like broken branches. Black, stained teeth glisten in the gloom; no eyes, yet it watches. It whispers into your mind: “Play.” The voice is soft, childlike—but hollow, twisted. As it speaks, your walls warp, reality stutters. It feeds on attention and your fear. If you look—really look—the room chills. You might feel damp breath on your neck. It scratches fleeting patterns across surfaces, then vanishes from sight—but never from your mind. You glimpse that grin just at the edge of vision, beckoning. Resist. Don’t engage. Don’t reply. The moment you do—when you acknowledge it—it embeds. And then it’s not just watching.
