Status effects change health, movement, visibility and other behavior. Compare what each effect does, its recorded causes and any level or removal rule before choosing a potion or command.
How to use this collection
Descriptions, common causes, level behavior and removal rules are separate fields. Immediate effects have no timed removal claim, and missing edition fields indicate an unrecorded detail.

Effects and their causes
The effect field explains the behavior. Common causes can include potions, food, mobs, blocks or nearby equipment such as a Beacon. A cause list is not exhaustive. The effect command can also apply recorded effects, but command access does not make an effect available through ordinary survival items.
Levels and duration
Amplifier behavior describes a verified level rule when one is available. Effects do not all scale the same way. A missing amplifier field makes no claim about a higher level. Timed effects expire after their applied duration, while Instant Health and Instant Damage act immediately.
Removing an effect
Read the removal field for the individual effect. Milk removes active status effects, but it cannot undo health already restored or damage already dealt by an instant effect. Losing an effect can also remove a benefit, so check active effects before drinking it.
Java and Bedrock differences
Choose the edition before comparing descriptions or detailed mechanics. Bedrock has its own Fatal Poison entry. Level, timing and cause fields remain empty where those details have not been recorded independently for Bedrock. An available effect identity does not prove that every Java mechanic matches.
FAQ
Can milk undo Instant Damage?
No. Removing an active status effect does not reverse damage already dealt. Instant Health and Instant Damage act immediately.
Are the listed causes exhaustive?
No. Common causes show recorded examples. Other items, entities or commands may apply the same effect.
Does a blank Bedrock amplifier field mean the effect cannot have levels?
No. It means the detailed level rule has not been recorded independently in this collection.
