The Forge Hidden Maze Guide

Updated on January 12, 2026 (about 1 hour ago)

The Hidden Maze event in The Forge is a limited-time challenge running from January 11, 2026, 10:00 AM PT to January 13, 2026, 10:00 AM PT. If you don’t convert these times to your local zone, you might miss out on this exciting maze adventure on Iceberg Island.

This event is all about navigating a secret maze, meeting a new merchant named Fungi, and earning the powerful Heavenly Pickaxe. Let’s jump straight into how you can get there and what you need to do.

Getting into the Hidden Maze starts with unlocking Frostspire Expanse

Before you can even think about the maze, you need to unlock Island 3, also called Frostspire Expanse. To do this, reach level 70 in The Forge and use the Portal Tool to travel there. If you haven’t unlocked this area yet, check out guides on how to unlock Frostspire Expanse for quick tips.

Once you’re in Frostspire Expanse, your goal is to mine Coinite ores. These come from mining Medium Red Crystal, Large Red Crystal, and Heart Of The Island Stone inside Raven Caves. If you want to know exactly where to find these ores or how to mine the Heart of the Island, this Heart of the Island ore guide is a great resource.

With enough Coinite in your inventory, head to the pier on Frostspire Expanse that faces Iceberg Island. Talk to the ferry operator and pay one Coinite per trip to cross over. Keep in mind each trip costs one Coinite, so stock up before you start exploring.

How to get through the maze without getting lost

Once you arrive on Iceberg Island, look for a hole to jump down: that’s your maze entrance. The maze can be confusing, but here’s a step-by-step path to follow:

  1. Walk straight from the entrance to the first T-junction, then turn left.
  2. At the second T-junction, turn left again.
  3. Take a left at the third T-junction.
  4. Turn right at the fourth T-junction.
  5. Turn right again at the fifth T-junction.
  6. Go straight through the crossroads to reach Fungi’s shop.

Fungi is a new merchant inside the maze. He sells exclusive weapon blueprints and a special potion that can help you during your journey. Don’t miss checking out his stock.

  1. From the crossroads, take the right path.
  2. Turn left at the next T-junction.
  3. Turn right at the following T-junction.
  4. Turn right again at the next T-junction.
  5. Take a left at the final T-junction and go straight ahead.

This leads you to the Angel Room, where you can claim the Heavenly Pickaxe and begin the Angelic quests. These quests are your path to upgrading this powerful pickaxe.

What you get from completing the maze and event

The main reward is the Heavenly Pickaxe, one of the best tools in The Forge. Along with it, Fungi’s shop offers unique weapon blueprints and a potion exclusive to this event. These items can give you an edge in mining and combat.

Remember, each ferry ride costs one Coinite, so plan your trips carefully if you want to explore the maze multiple times.

Also, this event overlaps with a server-wide Mining Boost, making it a perfect time to gather rare ores and upgrade your gear faster. You might want to check out the Mining Boost Weekend guide to maximize your gains.

The Hidden Maze update also adds new ores and enemies across the game world, so keep an eye out for fresh challenges beyond the maze.

This event is a great way to test your navigation skills, grab exclusive rewards, and dive deeper into The Forge’s winter content. If you want to prepare for the maze or learn more about the ores you’ll need, guides like how to find and farm the Yeti Heart or how to get Evil Eye ore can be handy.

Take your time, follow the maze directions carefully, and enjoy the thrill of unlocking new secrets. The Heavenly Pickaxe and Fungi’s exclusive items are definitely worth the effort.
