Pet mutations add another layer to companion progression in Grow a Garden. Instead of only asking which pet you want, the game also gives you reasons to care about how that pet is rolled or upgraded. Some pet mutations improve XP gain, some change passive value, and some directly affect how strong or valuable the mutated pet becomes compared with its normal version.
