The Hungry Birds Event in Grow a Garden kicks off on January 17 and runs until January 24, 2026. If you want to add rare pets to your collection and speed up your garden’s growth, this event is a must-play. The star of the show is the Bird Egg, a special event egg that can hatch some powerful pets with unique abilities.
here’s how the Bird Egg works and what pets you can get
To get Bird Eggs, you need to feed crops into the Bird Nest, a special single square plot in the center where birds fly around. Every time you fill the progress bar to 10 by placing crops there, you get a chance to receive a Bird Egg, gear items, or seeds. Keep in mind this is random, so feeding specific fruits doesn’t guarantee a reward.
There’s also a Premium Bird Egg available in the shop. It gives better chances for all Bird Egg pets except the rare Birb, which stays at a 0.1% chance. The Premium egg also has a 1% chance to upgrade into a Rainbow Egg, which is even rarer.
The Bird Egg looks like a simple tan egg but can hatch five different pets, each with its own rarity and special power:
- Black Bird (44.9%): Gives a bonus of 1 to 15 extra age to pets hatched from eggs, helping them grow faster.
- Cuckoo (30%): When you get a Lucky Harvest, there’s a 2-6% chance to triple your seeds. This chance stacks up to 12%.
- Brown Owl (20%): Adds more than 0.1 XP per second to all your active pets, boosting their experience gain.
- Gold Finch (5%): Between 16:40 and 50:00 game time, it has a 5-15% chance to cause Goldsparkle mutations on nearby fruits, which can improve your harvest.
- Birb (0.1%): The rarest prismatic pet. Every 5 minutes, it speeds up all nearby eggs by 150 seconds, with a 30% chance to multiply this speed boost by over 2.5 times.
The Bird Egg hatch time is about 20 minutes, making it the fastest event egg since Summer Harvest and tied with some of the quickest regular eggs. It’s also the first event egg to have two prismatic pets.
how to get the most out of the Hungry Birds Event
Focus on feeding the Bird Nest to fill the progress bar and get Bird Eggs as often as you can during the event week. Here’s a simple plan:
- Feed crops to the Bird Nest until the progress bar hits 10 to earn Bird Eggs.
- Hatch multiple eggs at once because Birb’s ability speeds up egg hatching, letting you hatch more pets faster.
- Try to get Cuckoo pets to increase your chances of triple seeds during Lucky Harvests.
- Place Gold Finch and Brown Owl near your fruits and eggs to benefit from their mutation and XP boosts.
- Consider buying Premium Bird Eggs for better chances at rare pets and the chance to get a Rainbow Egg.
This event is all about the Bird Egg pets and their unique powers. There are no new quality-of-life updates or bug fixes announced, so focus on maximizing your Bird Egg rewards.
Since the event ends on January 24, 2026, make sure you don’t miss this chance to grow your garden faster and add some rare pets to your collection.
