Picture this: you’ve just escaped the prison gates, sirens wailing behind you, and the city lights waiting ahead. You’re free, but you need a place to regroup, rearm, and plan your next move. That’s when the Criminal Bases come into play. These spots are your safe zones, your hangouts, and the first stop for every smart criminal in Jailbreak. There are two of them, and knowing where to find each one makes all the difference.
Let’s walk through both of them so you know exactly where to go next time you pull off a heist.
Rising City Criminal Base
If you’re hanging around the Jewelry Store or Bank area, this is the closest spot to run to. The Rising City Criminal Base sits right inside Rising City, near Train Tunnel 2 and the Crime Port. You’ll spot it by the shipping containers spread around its courtyard.
This base looks like an old shipping yard turned into a secret hideout. It has a main building with two rooms. Inside, you’ll find:
- Weapons: A Pistol and Shotgun on the tables.
- Outfits: A clothes rack to change out of your prison jumpsuit.
- Boss Room: Exclusive items for BOSS Gamepass players, with the Boss Attire and some cool armchairs.
Step outside, and you’ll see Camaro and Celestial car spawns, plus a Falcon S if you visit during the 5 Days of Vehicles Event. You can even spot a tiny Easter egg behind the Camaro spawn that says “Dooglefox Was Here.”

This base is also the main spot to cash in money from the Jewelry Store. Many players parachute straight from their robbery down to this base. But stay alert. The police can easily enter this one, so it’s not the safest place to hang around for long.
Volcano Criminal Base
If you prefer something more dramatic, the Volcano Criminal Base is where the real action happens. It’s hidden inside the volcano, near Mountainside Town. Look for a dirt trail and smoke coming out from the top of the mountain – that’s your sign.
The entrance is next to the train tracks, and once you drive or walk in, you’ll find a massive circular metal room glowing with orange lights and a pool of lava in the center. This base feels like a villain’s lair straight out of a movie.
Here’s what you can do inside:
- Cash In money from the Power Plant, Passenger Train, Museum, Casino, and sometimes the Jewelry Store.
- Grab Weapons like a Pistol and Shotgun from the tables.
- Change Clothes using the rack if you’re still in your jumpsuit (BOSS Gamepass players change automatically).
- Spawn Vehicles like the Camaro, Celestial, or La Matador.
The base is well-protected. The main gate only opens for criminals, so police can’t just walk in. They need a special method – like driving a bike through the gap or dropping from the volcano’s top. Still, it’s a favorite police camp spot, so don’t drop your guard.

Fun fact: this base has been around since Jailbreak’s early days and even got destroyed once when the volcano erupted. It was later rebuilt, taller and better, during the 5th Anniversary update. There’s also a Dinosaur Bones easter egg inside if you look closely above the Lamborghini spawn.
Which Base Should You Use?
If you’re robbing the Jewelry Store, go to the Rising City Base. It’s closer, faster, and easy to reach. But if you’re pulling off bigger heists like the Museum, Power Plant, or Passenger Train, the Volcano Base is your go-to. It’s safer, has more vehicle spawns, and feels like your own secret HQ.
Both bases are essential if you want to play smart. The Rising City base keeps you quick, and the Volcano base keeps you safe. Once you know their spots, every escape feels smoother, and every robbery ends like a pro.
